About the Author
Cheryl Louise Gillespie, blind from early childhood, was born in Perth Andover, New Brunswick Canada. Her family lived in Grand Falls and Woodstock before settling in Fredericton NB. Tigger and Jasper’s New Home is a story of true events experienced by the author and her two cats. Cheryl wrote this book with the hope of introducing a blind character to young children in a humourous and gentle manner. After graduating from Fredericton High School, Cheryl studied through the Royal Conservatory of Music and attained First Class Honours in piano, as well as in music theory and history. Private singing lessons have also been an important part of her music training. In 1993, she was the recipient of the Stanley B. Cassidy Memorial Award, presented by The Fredericton Music Society, for her dedication to excellence and personal achievements. As a member of the Fredericton Music Teachers’ Association, Cheryl continues to teach piano lessons which has been her passionate devotion since 1986.

I can’t get enough of these wonderful characters and this stunning storyline. My heart was viciously pulled apart and then slowly healed by an incredibly pure and passionate love. What I found within these pages brightened my heart and warmed my soul with a hope that you don’t often see in a lifetime. This story will rock your world and open your heart to the unbelievable and the profound.

Nikki is a beautiful woman with a heart of gold that has had to endure the dark and unthinkable side of humanity. She has pulled herself out of the dark pit a little each day to the best of her ability, but she knows she still has a long way to go. She desperately wants what she had before, but that would take a miracle. When Viper enters her life, her world is tilted and she knows she will never be the same again. She is beginning to feel things she hasn’t felt in a very long time, and they are both exciting and scaring her at the same time. Seeing that Viper is her best friend’s brother-in-law, she knows all too well how more than friendship would complicate things between them. She will never do anything to jeopardize her relationship with her best friend Gabby, so she resolves to just stay away far away from Viper and ignore her feelings. Unfortunately, Viper has other ideas, and he will do whatever it takes to bring Nikki back to life. I have officially fallen in love with Viper and his brothers! They are such a wonderfully unique group of characters that have captured my heart and my attention. It was amazing getting to know them, and I can’t wait to learn more about them and their stories. Watching Viper and Nikki get together was truly incredible, and I couldn’t get enough of them. They are such a beautiful couple, and I loved how much Viper’s love for her was so true and pure. It was astounding, and I hated to say goodbye to them. I hope to see them again as well as learn about Judge and Nat. That sounds like another amazing story to cherish and enjoy.

Emma Anderson is a new author to me that I am absolutely thrilled to find! Her writing has excited my heart and shaken its foundation to the core. Only a magnificent story filled with such a brilliant love can move my heart so deeply. This is the first book I’ve read from Emma Anderson and I was worried that I would be lost since it was book two in the series… HOLY CRAP do I want more…

The premise for this book is genius and I love the twist… The story of the four horsemen has always been a source of fear for many people. Emma has found a way to humanize them and give them understanding beyond their jobs… I cannot be happier to have read this book.

The prologue for this does a great job in introducing the characters and making sure the reader can follow the story.

Nikki is a nurse who along with her BFF is kidnapped and then rescued by, Chaos, Devil, Judge, and her mate Vyper. Nikki’s life has been hard and is still dealing with the nightmares from her past.

Vyper is the bad boy womanizer of the group, that after a great loss can’t stand to be close to anyone for fear of losing them.

I loved these characters not only were they believable but they are memorable. I love a book where you enjoy the characters and the storyline far more than the sex. Now don’t get me wrong the sex was hot but the story was better. Don’t just get this copy get the first in the series Devil Takes his Innocent.

finally a good one

A Practical Approach to Cardiac Anesthesia 3rd edition was a required text for me. However, I was delighted to discover its readability. Information is well organized and concise, yet packed w/ as much detail as you can take. I was greatful to not have to rake thru "fluff" in search of useful, comprehensible information. Good for any health professional interested in cardiac surgery and anesthesia.

Essential Book for Cardiac Anesthesia Practitioner

During our clinical practice in a teaching hospital in Istanbul, Turkey; I found the previous editions of this book very useful. I ordered my first book from [...] to receive the 2008 edition in January 2008. I have done a correct decision. This is an up-to-date, valuable practical book for Cardiac Anesthesiologist; as well as for residents who recently start to learn Cardiac Anesthesia. The tables provide excellent documentation for the use of different cardiac drugs and also some tables serve to differentiate different situations that has to be dealt in complex heart surgical operations. Nice book

Nice mix of designs (animals, landmarks, and more). Perfect for an adult who wants to try dot to dot for the first time or after many years absence. I would prefer a book with ring binding so it would lie open flat while working on a design but for the price I am very pleased.

Interesting Information

This is a good reference book. It is full of interesting information. For me I appreciated the information but was also overwhelmed a bit as I realized that most of the products I use on a daily or regular basis are probably not particularly healthy for my hair or physical being. I would like to go back to all natural ingredients in every part of my life but reality is what reality is, and that's not going to happen due to time, money, and circumstance. However, for someone much more diligent, and committed than I this book may be a blessing and offer you much useful information.

GREAT reference Book- get this!

First, to those who whine about it being outdated- hello, have you ever seen how often companies change product names? Did you expect some Harry Potter-esque book that could update itself?

THIS BOOK IS GREAT because it teaches you a few key things- 1) beauty companies can and do lie, so the product that promises thicker hair doesn't even legally have to deliver. 2) hair cannot be repaired- it's not a broken arm that can grow back stronger but it can look better and stop being damaged and 3) she explains what shampoos, etc are made of and covers different companies and product types in depth.

This book helped me stop spending $20 a bottle on shampoo and getting the same great healthy hair for $3 a bottle. It taught me what brands are full of more irritating ingredients that may increase dander and such, and so much more. It's a cheap book, Paula has a website if you really need someone to tell you the exact name of every product you try, but if you care about your hair and how it looks get this book and ignore the people who can't figure out that Sam's Softening Shampoo got renamed to Sam's Moisturizing Shampoo.

You'll learn enough in the first couple chapters to know what ingredients you do and don't want in your shampoo whether it's from the salon or the dollar store.

I'm no longer a fool for my hard earned money !!

This is a must have for people like me who spend SO much money at the salon. I have very long blonde hair,to the middle of my back. I always highlight(with hi-lo lights), and have done so for many years. As I read this book, she goes into great detail about how to save money on items that are not necessary. I use to spend close to $200.00 each time I visit the salon,just on my hair- not including the products I would buy, and I tip well at 20%. I would get a full highlight, extra conditioner-that she said would prevent breakage, and split ends, then she would add the shine product to my hair.She would then style, and trim my ends. I would do all the extra spa type treatments, because this is what she would tell me to do-in order to keep my hair healthy. She would tell me I had so much breakage, well I found out none of this was true. She would then keep pushing their store products(pureology, or which ever expensive product they were pushing) on me. I have done this for years. I have no doubt a small fortune on my hair.

Now, after researching and realizing- I'm being had for my money. I have stop many things. Of course, I'm not able to highlight on my own, but I have stop adding on the extra's, and not doing the full highlights everytime I go.I now exchange everyother highlight with a full then partial.I have learned to cut back on products that I do not need. I'm also staying away from expensive products, and my hair looks better than it ever has, if not at least the same. I'm actually getting more compliments, because of the shine I now add on my own. And it lasts a lot longer !

BTW, I also went to my physician, and ask about my hair being - so unhealthy and all of this breakage I was told I had, my doctor looked at my hair- and laughed- she said I was a victim of a sale person in the salon,there's nothing wrong with my hair- and said it was beautiful !

I know hairdresser's are great at what they do- but after reading this book, I am now more aware of the little games, or scams they play in order to make more money of off me. I won't fall for it anymore. I will stay with the same girl, even though she is so frustrated with me for not buying anything, and the fact that I no longer do the treatments- she keeps trying to work me though. Her lastest on me is how dull she thinks my hair has because ??? I wish I could post a picture of my hair on here- and let you be the judge !

While reading this book, you will quickly become aware of how Nakamura is in a completely different league than anyone else who has attempted to write on this topic. His mastery of seemingly every language he has bent his mind to is legendary. When approaching a topic spread about Sanskrit, Pali and Chinese, this skill comes in very handy.

The strength of this book comes from Nakamura's careful examination of a variety of primary sources in their original language. His purpose here is to parse out what probably happened in the life of the Buddha and what is egregious myth. He carefully cites his texts, states what they contain and then juxtaposes this with other texts (often times written later) to demonstrate how first-hand accounts of the Buddha were turned into outlandish superstition. When he cannot say anything definitive, he gives his reasons for why a certain bit of information cannot be known to such a degree. By utilizing these scholarly methods, Nakamura strips away the myth from the man revealing a far more human (and thus far more relatable) image of the Buddha.

By carefully dissecting the myths behind the life of the Buddha, a different character emerges from this process that makes other contemporary renderings of the Buddha seem rather trite in comparison. I would say that this is -the- definitive piece on the Buddha if the book were not so pedantic and probably un-approachable to most. I guess what I'm saying is that you had better be pretty motivated to get into the material or you will end up putting the book down out of boredom. I can assure you though that if you get through it, you will be thankful that you did.

I should also note that the footnotes are extraordinarily useful as Nakamura carefully cited his sources. This makes for a great place to begin future study, especially for getting familiar with the original Pali cannon.

best buddha bio bible

this is the best biography of the buddha that i have encountered so far. along with volume II it is a complete work that stands as the most comprehensive, interesting, inspiring, and readable book on the buddha's life and teaching.

it is written from the perspective of the buddha as a historical man, not a myth or a god, and the author always tries to get to the historical reality of his life. this is a very refreshing approach and, contrary to what some may believe, i think this does a great service to the buddha and his teaching. to deny the buddha his human reality is to undermine the entire philosophy that he taught. it is for this reason that the hindus spread the lie that the buddha was an incarnation of visnu, knowing that this would subtly undermine the whole philosophy of buddhism.

i have not enjoyed any other biographies of the buddha as i do this one. there is something about it that stands out, the profound respect of the author for the buddha leaps off every page. i think one could use this as a kind of buddha bible, in terms of it being incredibly inspiring for a practicing buddhist.

there is only one complaint i have, which is the few instances where the author adds his own interpretation of the teachings, an interpretation that may not necessarily be that of the buddha himself. the main example which comes to mind is the section on the anattalakkhana sutta, infamous for its peculiar teaching. the author interprets it as a negation of all that is not self, implying that there is a true self to be discerned beyond all that is not self. there are certain scholars of critical buddhism like matsumoto shiro and hakamaya noriaki who would be strongly opposed to such an interpretation, favoring the view that the buddha was, in fact, teaching that there is no true self to be found at all, and that the anattalakkhana sutta teaches insubstantiality 'all the way', negating every possibility of clinging to a notion of self. that being said, one can easily overlook the author's bias and it does not spoil my reading of the book as a whole.

A well-written and simple book on Buddha's life

This book deserves an award for its clarity and scholarly presentation of the life-history of the Buddha, while being readable even by the lay-person. The author is a well-known researcher of Eastern philosophical traditions.
