"I suspect the real breakthroughs in our understanding of consciousness are going to come from an entirely different direction. That direction, controversially, has to do with psychedelics--which, as many of the contributors to The Divine Spark argue, offer spectacular potential for the investigation of the 'hard problem' of consciousness." --from the introduction by Graham Hancock

A veritable who's who of writing on the frontiers of consciousness
By Hagbard Celine
Graham Hancock may have a new gig: curator of amazing writing on the frontiers of consciousness. This anthology features a who's who in the field, plus some less likely but very interesting contributors like (love him or loathe him) Russell Brand. You just don't get more legit than Rick Doblin of MAPS, Rick Strassman (the brave scientist who was ahead of all the current interest in clinical research into psychedelics), Dennis McKenna, Nassim Haramein, etc, etc. For anyone interested in the nature of consciousness, this is the book for you. Highly Recommended.

I absolutely loved this book
By StrandedMoose
I absolutely loved this book. I checked it out after listening to a podcast about it on Mysterious Universe.

There is a bit of madness in it, but the authors pose some questions and theories that are fascinating, if nothing else. Hancock and his collaborators will have you wondering if they are truly geniuses, or just psychedelics enthusiasts off their collective rockers. One of my main issues with the book, is that it seems to jump to conclusions without providing any real shred of proof. For instance, Hancock posits that psychedelics were the reason behind the cave paintings in Lascaux- which are our earliest record of art. He therefore deduces that all culture can be traced back to psychedelics, but there seems to be no evidence supporting this link. In fact, art certainly may have existed before the cave paintings in Lascaux. It may simply be the fact that other forms of art have eroded in time, whereas caves provide good shelter and preservation. He also argues the possibility that our universe is made up of a giant fabric of black holes. In fact, each proton in our universe may be the inverted singularity of a black hole in another universe. Another interesting thought, but again, a huge assumption. Regardless, this book provides some great ideas about consciousness, art, and the makeup of the universe. I personally hope to find more books asking questions and presenting theories like this in the future

Excellent collection of articles regarding the nature of consciousness and other issues that most materialist scientists ignore
By Ibrahim Yucel
Excellent book. This is a collection of very interesting articles or excerpts of studies written by well-known, modern intellectuals, physicists, psychonauts and of course, Graham Hancock. When I first pulled the book out of the package, it seemed like a very short and unsatisfying read, but the first few chapters are very dense and I actually had to reread them to really understand the idea being put forth. In short, it looks like it'll be a very worthwhile and mind-opening read. For now, I've only read the first three chapters, but after skimming through the names of the other chapters, the rest of the book looks very promising. I will update the review when I read the entire thing. Thank you Graham for another amazing book, and I look forward to preordering your upcoming "Magicians of the Gods" as soon as it's available!
